It looks like you've got it all together
I was on a call recently with a new partner for my Lifestyle Business Academy.
He was being quite hard on himself, so I told him that just eight weeks ago, I was struggling to get out of bed.
My last few videos have touched on it. The brutal 18 months, the decision to pack up for Bali, the huge shift that came from changing our environment.
This is a crazy ride, I told him. It will test you in ways you can't imagine.
Then he said something that really hit me.
He told me, "I didn't think someone with your results would get on a call with me. It looks like you've got it all together."
That's when I shared the full story of how cooked I was, and how it led to us making this big change.
I'm not very good at being vulnerable. I tend to go into my shell when times get tough, to just shut up and figure it out.
But it was his next comment that prompted this video.
He said that our call, and me sharing that struggle, was worth the entire partner fee alone. Even if he never promoted a thing.
It was the reminder I needed.
It’s okay to share more in the really challenging times. I need to get better at sharing the mess in between.
The deals that go south, the people who don't pay you, the things that happen behind the scenes that make you question everything.
So this is me raising my hand and saying I'm going to aim to be better.
But there's a deeper message here, which is how quickly things can change.
Part of the reason I go quiet is because I know there are always levers you can pull.
It's never as good as it seems, and it's never as bad as it seems.
Things can shift really, really fast.
When we landed in Bali, the change was almost instant. Just getting on the scooter, the new sights and smells, I could feel myself lock back in.
The only time things won't change is if you stop trying things. Be that in business or in life.
Sometimes the lever you need to pull isn't a business one. It's changing your environment, your health, who you spend your time with.
All it takes is one conversation, one small shift, to unlock a golden thread of realizations.
The only way things won't get better is if you stop searching for that golden thread.
So if you're in a rut, just keep moving. Keep trying different things.
Eventually, one of them will click.
